HRM is a corporation comprised of industrial companies with facilities in a 900 square mile area of East Harris County and West Chambers County. HRM was formed to cost effectively conduct ambient air monitoring and selected air quality studies in the Houston area.

HRM’s operations are designed to provide participating companies with the information and capability to address air quality issues concerning criteria pollutants, air toxics, accidental release, ozone attainment, and air permitting concerns. HRM has conducted ambient monitoring of 150 volatile organic indicator compounds at nine sites for over twenty years.

URS Corporation (formerly Radian International) has been HRM’s technical services contractor since the beginning of HRM’s monitoring efforts in 1981.
